The Medical Alumni Association and the Dr. Elva May Rowe Fund, International Health Undergraduate Summer Research Scholarships

Each year the Medical Alumni Association funds a number of Summer Scholarship grants which are awarded to first and second year medical students at the University of Toronto.  Through these scholarships, students have the opportunity to participate in an academic/clinical experience that includes a research project related to important health issues in developing nations.

The goal of this program is to allow students to attain a knowledge base that would not be possible in the standard curriculum in Canada.  Eligible projects can be a part of or related to the ongoing international work of a U of T faculty member.  New and unrelated projects that are proposed are also eligible as long as the applicant finds suitable supervisors from both U of T and the country of interest.
