MEDS 7T1 Family Reunion

That is how it felt for the 90 physicians and significant others who got together to celebrate our 40 year reunion, by sharing old stories, remembering those who were not longer with us and recanting the events of the up to six years we had spent together preparing to become physicians that made the class of 1971 special. 

The exceptional May 13-15, 2011 weekend started with a Friday evening cocktail party, followed by a Saturday morning CME on the Roof Top Garden Room at the Park Hyatt Hotel, culminating in a gala dinner and dance that evening.

The theme of the CME was “Medical Advances: Then and Now”  Moderated by Larry Erlick, the topics included: ‘Infectious Disease Update’ by David McNeely, ‘Global Health’ Initiatives by Bob Pashby,  ‘New Approaches to Assessing Back Pain’ by Barry Malcolm, ‘Dermatology Update’ by Danny Schachter,  ‘Cancer Treatment Update’ by Robert Myers,  and ‘Update on Treating the Aging Eye’ by Joe Weinstock. Thank you to all of the presenters and the Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development (CEPD) for accreditation of our CME.

As with our 35th reunion and now with our 40th, and as part of our desire to give back to the Faculty of Medicine, this year we were able to donate $3,000.00 to the Medical Alumni Association.  We would also like to thank Ruth Gillings and the staff of the Medical Alumni Association for their help in making this event possible.
